Roy Ayers: Everybody Loves the Sunshine (1976)

I was going to write a thorough dissection on why Sunday is such an important day. There’s no question why everyone innately views Sunday as a day of devotion, fun, and relaxation. From our birth to our death its a day designated for reflection. But, I think Roy Ayers captures in “Everybody Love’s the Sunshine” the totality, in a much simpler way, of why today is essential. Just stepping out and:

Feel what I feel, what I feel, what I feel, what I’m feelin’
In the sunshine
Do what I do what I do what I do what I’m doing
In the sunshine

…sometimes you just gotta get out there and experience it. I’m taking this track with me though.

If you can, check out this live performance by Roy of this track on Soul Train, the good vibes just abound in it:
