Mix: 43. The Sounds Of Water

When I was asked to make a mix for KPISS.FM’s “Paradise Of Replica” regularly hosted by fellow reader/guest contributor Canterel, plus Himiko and Kyle Kyle, I felt inspired by what is their regular episode opener. It’s a brief intro featuring a snippet of from intro track to After Dinner’s brilliant album of the same name is truly something special — island music mutated by all sorts of futuristic electronics.

The Sounds Of Water is my attempt to give you a continuation of that intro, to paint a futuristic Japan inspired by its island roots. From the reggae-tinged sunset pop of the genius Kyozo Nishioka to Febian Reza Pane’s aquatic ambient jazz, all of this music has been doused in some tropical moisture.

So, before it’s too late, let’s feel some more of that summer heat…
